Our client, Erskine Chambers is seeking an ambitious and personable Assistant Practice Manager to join its clerking team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your experience within a leading specialist set, supporting barristers whose work spans company law, corporate disputes, restructuring and insolvency, financial services and commercial litigation.
Working closely with the senior clerking team, you will help manage and develop barristers’ practices, coordinating diaries, handling enquiries and ensuring Members and clients receive a responsive, professional service. You will build relationships with instructing solicitors, assist with fee quotations and negotiations, and support court listing arrangements and the administration of new instructions. There will also be opportunities to contribute to practice reviews, client events and business development activities.
The role would suit a Junior Clerk ready to move into practice management or an existing Assistant Practice Manager seeking a new challenge. You will bring previous chambers experience, excellent organisational skills and the confidence to communicate with barristers and clients. A proactive approach, attention to detail and a genuine interest in developing barristers’ practices are essential; experience within a commercial or chancery set would be advantageous.
Joining Erskine offers the opportunity to learn from an experienced clerking team, gain exposure to complex domestic and international work and take on increasing responsibility in one of the leading sets at the bar.
